Ship lift at Three Gorges Dam (Yangtze, China)
In the course of overall planning by a joint venture consisting of KREBS+KIEFER International and LAHMEYER International, the design of the ship lift was developed in close cooperation with the owner and dam operator, China Three Gorges Corporation (CTG) between 2004 and 2007.
The following data was used as the basis for planning:
- Usable chamber dimension: Length = 120 m, width = 18 m
- Moved load: approx. 33,000 t
- Lifting height: 113 m
- Travel time: 22 min.
